Mechanical Booster Vacuum Pumps
Structure
A well balanced cocoon shaped rotor is mounted on each of the two paralleled shafts. Rotating the rotors, gases are introduced into the pump and contained in the space between the casing and the rotors, and continuously exhausted efficiently through the outlet to create vacuum.

- Light weight due to employment of aluminum as a major material.
- Employment of the magnet coupling enables the pump to operate from the atmospheric pressure and shorten the pumping hours 50% (DM type).

New SMB-C06 model

About selection of the backing pump
The mechanical booster pump is unable to compress and exhaust gases to the atmospheric pressure. Its performance varies according to the kind and performance of the vacuum pump used as its backing pump. In the composition of the vacuum pumping system using the mechanical booster pump, it is necessary to choose the backing pump which is most suitable for the required application.
- Displacement capacity of the backing pump should be 1/2 - 1/10 of the mechanical booster pump. Selection should be made for large capacity pump in the case of continuous operation under high pressure, and small capacity pump in the case of continuous operation under low pressure.
- For operation under high vacuum, choose the oil-sealed rotary vacuum pump as a backing pump, and in operation under low vacuum with exhausts of large amount of condensing gases, choose the water-sealed vacuum pump.
- There are various combination of pumps according to the specifications.
